Well, we are moving quickly into good ol' Georgia summer time around here. Yep, I know it is only May and the spring flowers are full bloom...and the allergies are full blown! But today it was 80 degrees and cloudy! That sounds a lot like June to me! The new gelding, show quarantine, farm store/fiber area, and ROASTING ROOM is ninety percent complete. The wires have been run, the plumbing is about finished, and we still are waiting for our roaster to arrive! Probably a good thing too! :o)
You know we have often been told that our timing is not always the best, and you know I do not know why??? Just because we are moving ahead to develop our coffee company on the edge of a recession...hey, somebody has to come forth with the positive vibes, don't you think? We are excited about our country, our lives, and our friendships that are developing...partly because of The Alpaca Bean adventure! An adventure we would not trade for the world.
The Alpaca Bean Coffee Company again provided coffee to participants of three shows since November 2007, The Carolina Classic Auction and Show, The Carolina Celebration Show of CABO, and The Virginia Alpaca Show. We served up liquid coffee to these groups and charged only a donation to The Alpaca Research Foundation. During this next week we will be writing a check in excess of $1,000 to ARF. Hopefully, we will be able to continue this tradition for a third year beginning this fall! Hope to see you at these wonderful events. If you would like our company to be present at your show, please contact the venue and seek a waiver for us to serve coffee for donations...let us know you have done the deed, and if we can fit it into our pocketbooks and our schedule, then we will be there!
Well, until we are able to hook up the ol' roaster and start roastin', you all take care and keep your heads up! The ol' economy will rise up again and we won't even notice the gas prices! Well...we will be able to tolerate them a wee bit better anywho!
